Lover and Child

I've seen a woman suffer
because of the selfishness of another.
One I would call brother,
leaves her to be a single mother.
Child needs a father,
but momma's so mad,
she says, "Why bother,
I'll be your mother and your dad."

And because of this
the cycle continues.
Women do all the work,
and the men pretend to.
He knows that she wont leave,
because she loves him so much.
He leaves when he wants to leave,
and touch when he wants to touch.

He doesn't protect her,
just lust on her nectar.
Leaves her with his problems.
It is up to her to solve them,
While he chases his tail
in the street running wild.
She forever knows him well,
because he's her lover and her child.
