Twisted Creatures

Twisted Creatures

I thought you would be the jewel that would save my soul,
swimming across waves the size of mountains.
I hike up my pants to show you I am mature.
Oh what twisted little creatures we are.

I walk the painted lines in the middle of the road
with my eyes closed and my arms stretched far out.
The constant flickering of the street lights beg
for me to open my curious lids,
but I refuse.

With your head in my lap and your heart in my hands,
I feel victorious.
You will die for me and I will die for that moment.
When the minute has passed,
I'm left searching for the right hour of the day to let you know...

When you are weak, I want you strong.
When you are wise, I want you naive.
When I am angry, I want you obedient.
Oh what twisted little creatures we are.

I stare at the door as you cry.
It won't be long now till I am able to regret.
I am eager to be filled with regret, and make up.
Backpedaling up a hill with hopes that you
are weak, forgiving and no longer upset with me.
I am searching for another victory.
Oh what twisted, twisted little creatures we are.
